Do you have Star Wars fan in your house? I do! This super simple Yoda puppet is a Star Wars craft your kids can play with for hours! It’s perfect for play dates and rainy afternoons, in fact you should make one right now.
May the fourth be with you! I think any day is a good day for making a paper plate puppet, but May 4th is Star Wars Day so if you don’t have anything else planned then this Yoda puppet is the craft for you.
We have light sabers (both “real” and homemade), we have a Darth Vader mask, and a Luke Skywalker robe, but we really don’t have anything Yoda. That won’t do when you are all about the Star Wars pretend play so we whipped up this simple Yoda puppet that can be used as a Yoda costume in a pinch–just add green clothes and a zen attitude!
How to Make the Yoda Puppet
- green paper plate (store bought or painted)
- green paper (we used card stock)
- googly eyes
- glue
- popsicle stick
- black marker
- scissors
Use the scissors to cut the green card stock into the shape of Yoda’s ears. I folded my paper in half before I cut my ears so both would be the same size. Glue the ears to the sides of the green plate.
Add googly eyes to Yoda’s face and draw a nose and a mouth with the black marker. Once his face is done glue the popsicle stick to the back of the plate. When it’s dry your Yoda puppet is ready to play with!
