Is your family smoothie crazy? Mine is!
We are constantly experimenting and trying out new recipes. We got a bunch of kale in our last co-op bin and decided to use it for a healthy smoothie recipe.
Blueberry Kale Healthy Smoothie Recipe
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 3-4 kale leaves
- 1/2 cup yogurt (we used vanilla)
- 1 cup of milk
- ice
This is a total kid-friendly recipe–good to eat and to help make! Kids can help you wash and tear the kale and add the ingredients to the blender.
Put it all in the blender or food processor and blend it together! The better the blender the more chopped up the kale will be, but ours isn’t very powerful and it didn’t really bother the kids.
Getting to help make a smoothie is half of the fun for kids! Try this blueberry kale smoothie for breakfast or even a fun afternoon snack.

Thanks, I just discovered how much fun a blender could be. I usually use a juicer. I will be making the blueberry and kale (with the help of my kids) this weekend. It’s a great way to get vegetables (especially for my son who hates everything green) into my kids.
