Part of the fun of making your own Christmas ornaments with your kids is getting the chance to reminisce about them each year as you decorate your tree. I especially love seeing how the handprint crafts change each year as the kids get older.
This handprint reindeer ornament was one of the very first kid-made ornaments that my oldest made when she was just a toddler and it is still a favorite to this day!
Reindeer Handprint Ornament:
- brown cardstock
- brown paint
- googly eyes
- red pom pom
- red ribbon
These are the supplies we use, but each one can easily be swapped for whatever similar product you have on hand.
Paint or let your child paint her hand with the brown paint and make a handprint on the cardstock and let dry.
Cut out the handprint and add the googly eyes and pom pom to make the reindeer face. Punch a hole at the top and tie with some red ribbon.
Then hang it on your tree and get ready to enjoy it year after year! The one in the photos is the one my youngest made this year and I cannot believe how big she is getting!
