Painted Flag Toast turned out to be such a fun and healthy 4th of July kids snack!  Instead of using milk and food coloring for our paint like we usually do we decided to try using fruit paint and found it to be delicious!  This is one 4th of July craft you can do anytime of day…especially if you need a snack!

Healthy Kids Snack Fruit Painted Toast

To make the flag toast snack we cut the bread into a regular shape and made our fruit “paint”.  We had leftover strawberries and blueberries that were starting to get juicy so we stuck them in the mini-food processor and turned them into paint.

Then the kids started painting!  They had a lot of fun and commented that the fruit paint was much thicker than the milk paint we usually use.

I love that this 4th of July snack turned out to be a super healthy kids craft.  I think we will have to experiment with fruit paint recipes again in the future.
