Summer Kindness Calendars
Summer is the perfect time to focus on intentionally doing acts of kindness with your kids. The change in routine makes it much easier to start creating new habits and making a habit of kindness is one you’ll never regret!
When we first started focusing on acts of kindness at Christmas I knew that there would be benefits, but my husband and I were surprised by just how good it was for our family. Not only did our kids learn about helping others, it also changed the way they viewed themselves. They were empowered by being “people who helped” and gained confidence as problem solvers. They got into a habit of focusing on others which cut down on complaints and whining.
We were also surprised to discover that as we began to intentionally focus on kindness on a daily basis our stress levels decreased. Knowing we were going to do some act of kindness during the day as a family gave us a way to connect and something to look forward to doing each day.

- Summer Kindness Calendars for 2019 (download below)
- laminator (optional)
Just like the last 2 summers we’ve created an entire summer’s worth of printable kindness calendars for you. Each day has an act of kindness your family, group, or students can do and check off. The acts of kindness range from the super simple to more involved. I’ve intentionally mixed them up so kids can see that simple everyday acts really do make a difference.
The goal of the calendars is not to do each act of kindness on the assigned day, although you can if you want! Doing acts of kindness as a family shouldn’t be stressful or add more to your workload.
Part of the goal is to help you connect and be more intentional with your family so don’t over think it. Do the activities when they are convenient for you and use stickers or markers to check off the ones you’ve done. Focusing on kindness, not going in order, is what will make a difference.
