Bath Tub Sight Word Materials:
- Colored Foam
- Permanent Marker
- Pen/Pencil
- Scissors
- Water
What to do:
- Trace circles (or any shapes) onto your foam piece with a pencil or pen.
- Cut your shapes out.
- Write one sight word on each shape. You can also write out math facts, spelling words or anything your child is learning.
- Let the child(ren) play with the shapes in the tub or shower.
You can even use them in the pool or on a dry erase board or window. The foam pieces need a little water to stick to surfaces so if you aren’t in a tub you can have a basin of water or a spray bottle with water near the surface they are using.
Sight Word Extension Ideas:
- Have your child use a net to catch the words as you call them out.
- Have your child make sentences with the words they find.
- Make other shapes out of foam to create scenes for your children to create on the tiles.
- Make a sun, tree, birds, snowman, etc.

Love this idea! Will use it with my young grandsons. It is still warm here in Southern California, so the grandsons are still playing in the wading pool when they come to visit.

I just wanted to let you know that I found your blog on Pintrest this evening and out of all the ones available yours caught my eye. I am a grandmother raising grandchildren (step). I have been struggling with a SUPER smart granddaughter who is more interested in getting attention than applying her mind. She has been through a lot and seen a lot. I am praying this is going to be her light bulb moment tomorrow night when she sees this activity. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Treshea I am so happy you like it! I hope your granddaughter has so much fun with it–I have tons of active sight word games on the blog since I know how boring sight words can get sometimes. Let me know if you need anymore ideas!
