Meet a fellow mom who believes there is both time for coffee cups and crayons in life:
Hi! I’m Megan, former teacher turned mom of four, who believes acts of kindness (and really good coffee) can change the world.
When my oldest child was a toddler I had so much fun planning cute little activities for her, and sometimes her play group, to do. We had fun, we bonded, we created. We were “Pinterest-y” before Pinterest was even created.
Then I had another baby. And another. And another. I started to work a little more, joined a book club, planned fundraisers, had date nights with my husband and did all the things. I still wanted to make memories with my kids and be the mom who did fun hands-on activities, but I also wanted to finish a cup of coffee before it got cold.
I needed easy, but awesome, kids activities that didn’t take me hours to prep.
With a little trial and error I’ve discovered which activities give me the most bang for my buck and how to connect with my kids while teaching them to be kind. In other words, I learned that easy really can be awesome.
Ready to be awesome?
These activities are so easy I bet you already have all the stuff you need to do them!
Simple science experiments are always a hit. Walking Water is our most popular for a reason–it’s both easy and awesome. Once you try that your kids will be hooked .
Acts of kindness are parenting gold. They’re not only a fun way to do good for others, kindness is also the easiest way to slow down and bond as a family. Try the easiest random act of kindness ever to get you started.
Busy bags are a must for your parenting arsenal. You prep them once and your kids play with them for hours and hours. While you drink your coffee. Or go to the bathroom all by yourself. This fine motor weaving busy bag for preschoolers makes use of random scraps you already have at home.
“I love that your activities are gender neutral and fun! Many of the activity blogs I follow are not achievable, but yours are so thank you!” — Lindsay, mom of 2
“I love your ideas and share them with my staff. Sometimes it’s good to have fresh ideas so we’re not doing the same old same all the time!” — Trish, preschool director
