For this month’s Busy Bag of the Month I am sharing a fine motor skills busy bag that I got at my last swap! One of my friends made this weaving busy bag and we have had so much fun with it I asked her if I could share it with everyone.
How to Make a Weaving Busy Bag
1. Collect ribbons, pipe cleaners, string, yarn, whatever you have.
2. Tie the end of each one to the end of a dish rack mat.
3. Show your child how to weaving the ribbon in and out of the holes in the mat.
My preschooler has so much fun with this weaving activity and I love that she is developing fine motor skills…with a smile!
We are hosting our own online form of a Busy Bag Swap every month with our Busy Bag of the Month Series! Go and see what the other busy bag bloggers have done!

Fun idea! I can see this keeping my preschooler busy for a long time. 🙂 Where did you get the dish rack mat?
Megan Sheakoski says
She found them at the Dollar Tree! 🙂

As my hubby shakes his head at my stockpile of “stuff” that I hoard for daycare activities, it brings me joy that someone else (you) also found the exact same creative use for the Dollar Tree dish drain thingy. I purchased 6 (I work at home as a Family Child Care Provider, 20 years, and can care for up to 6 kiddos at a time), and collected all sorts of ribbons, yarn, even pipe cleaners etc, from Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul etc., for the children to weave with. Love it!!
