Feeding the birds is one of our favorite acts of kindness! We got creative and made a ghost bird feeder to hang outside with our other Halloween decorations.
This Halloween craft is made from things you probably have in your kitchen right now!
How to Make a Bird Feeder
- clean milk carton
- white paint
- black permanent marker
- pipe cleaner
- birdseed
- scissors
- hole punch
We started by using regular scissors to cut an opening in the front of the milk carton. We started a little bit up from the bottom to make sure we could add bird seed.
We painted the milk carton white and let it dry. It took a couple of coats of paint. When it was dry we used a marker to draw the eyes and outline the mouth of the ghost.
Then I punched two holes in the top of the ghost bird feeder and filled it with bird seed. We found a place to hang it and I twisted the pipe cleaner around the branch and through the holes to create a hanger.
Such a fun way to upcycle a milk carton and do a little good at the same time!
