Gobble gobble! These turkey paper plate crafts are simple enough for preschoolers to make and with the addition of a craft stick can turn into puppets.

Perfect for finger plays, storytelling and pretend play–I love when a craft becomes a play tool!

Simple Paper Plate Turkey Puppet Craft for Thanksgiving

Paper Plate Turkey Craft

  • dessert size paper plate (if you want to turn it into a puppet, any size if not)
  • construction paper
  • googly eyes
  • craft stick
  • glue

Cut feather shapes out of the construction paper. Depending on the age of the kids and how much time you have you can draw the shapes for the kids to cut out or let them draw their own. If you want to make these with a group of kids you can even set out fake feathers for them to us too.

Glue the feathers to the back of the plate and add the eyes and beak.  If you want to turn your turkey into a puppet add a craft stick to the back and it’s ready for play!

I don’t know if it’s the feathers or the gobbling but turkey crafts are so much fun to play with!
