Back to school time means it’s time to start thinking about packing school lunches.

Last year we taught our kids how to pack their own school lunches and it worked really well. This year I wanted to get them excited about school lunches again so came up with these cute printable lunch box tags for their lunchboxes.

I’m excited to partner with Horizon Organic to share these free printable lunch box tags with you!

Free printable lunch box tags! Perfect for back to school--you can even personalize with your child's name. 6 designs to choose from!

  • scissors
  • laminator
  • hole punch
  • ribbon or string

Download the free printable lunch box tags and save to your computer. Have your kids choose their favorite tag and add their name to it using a word processing program. (See instructions below.)

Print the tags out at home or an office supply store. Laminate them for durability and cut out–if you choose to go to an office supply store they can print and laminate for you. Use the hole punch to create a hole in the corner of the tag and tie it to the lunch box with ribbon or string.

The lunch box tags not only jazz up your child’s lunch box–they also help it find it’s owner in case it gets misplaced. These same tags can also be used on backpacks or as luggage tags too!

How to Add a Name to the Lunch Box Tags

  1. Open and download lunch box tag printable as a Word document.
  2. Open it and add a text box to the top of the tag you want to make.
  3. Make sure to check “no fill” and “no outline”.
  4. Type your child’s name in whatever font and color you like.
  5. Save and print.

Free printable lunch box tags and some favorite snacks are a great way to get kids excited about going back to school!

Getting kids excited about back to school is a great way to make the transition easier for them. Letting them personalize their lunch box with a new tag and choose some favorite foods and snacks will give kids something to look forward to at lunchtime. My kids love how Horizon’s snacks taste so we are already stocking up at our house for easy lunch packing.

To make lunchtime even more special I like to add in a little note or drawing or even a silly joke for the kids to find–it’s a great way to let them know you are thinking about them during the day.

    Hi!
I love your lunchbox tags. The green camo downloads as a green with black chevron.
Is there a way to send the green camo to me?

    Thank you in advance<

P.S. Have a safe and happy school year. 🙂

Hi Nan! That is the weirdest thing!!! When I try and open it it is showing the green chevron now too. I have no idea how that could even happen. I’m guessing the camo graphic is no longer in Mircosoft Word and it automatically converts it to the chevron. I’m so sorry about that. I cannot fix it for you.
