Random Act of Christmas Kindness: Help a Neighbor

10 Random Acts of Christmas Kindness for Kids Our family has loved counting down to Christmas with 24 Days of Random Acts of Christmas Kindness.  It has been a great way to slow down and really appreciate what the season is about and we have gotten just as much out of it as the people we are RACKing.

Random Act of Christmas Kindness: Do Yard Work for a Neighbor from Coffee Cups and CrayonsEspecially yesterday.  For Day 10’s RACK we helped our neighbors by raking all of the leaves in their front yard.  The kids were so excited to do this one and there was a pretty large (by FL standards at least) pile of leaves for us to rake.  So we rounded up some rakes and got to work.

The thing is we live in Tampa.  And the neighbors have a teenage son.  And a leaf blower.  So chances are they may not have needed  our help.  Certainly not as much as an elderly neighbor might need their sidewalk shoveled.  But we did it anyway.  Because the kids are learning just how awesome helping others feels and that is what we want to give to them this holiday season.

As we worked the kids talked about how excited the neighbors were going to be to see a nice, clean lawn.  And I thought about how excited I was to see their excitement.  Yep.  Doing Random Acts of Christmas Kindness is turning out to be a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season.
