Preschoolers need lots of practice to develop their gross motor skills–good thing it’s so much fun!

I was talking to my friend Meredith from Homegrown Friends and she came up with the idea of using bubble wrap for a Valentine’s Day activity and we could not wait to try it out. This is one gross motor activity even I had to try!

Valentine’s Day Gross Motor Activity

  • bubble wrap
  • paper hearts
  • tape
  • painter’s tape (optional)

This is the ultimate low prep, high fun activity which are my favorite kind. I cut out some paper hearts and taped them to the back (non-bubbly side) of the bubble wrap. That’s it. Really.

It was a beautiful day so we took it outside, but it would be just as fun as an indoor activity. I used painter’s tape to tape the corners down and then we started to play!

We practiced jumping, skipping, hopping and leaping on the hearts and it was so much fun. Popping the bubbles is so satisying!
