Looking for a fun shapes activity that is full of STEM learning? Then you will love making grape shapes with your kids!

Make grape shapes to explore the properties of shape and geometry!

Have kids put their engineering caps on and design and create their own shapes. It’s a great way for them to learn to not only recognize shapes but to also start to understand their properties.

Plus it’s a great way to spend an afternoon!

Build shapes with grapes!

Grape Shapes Activity

  • grapes
  • toothpicks (you can even get flat sided ones if you’re worried about sharp points)

It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, if grapes are still a choking hazard for your child or you are worried about sharp objects then just pin this one for later when they’re ready.

If you want to set this one up today then all you need to do it put the supplies on the table and call the kids in!

STEM for Kids! Make grape shapes and structures!

Ask them to make a simple shape like a triangle using the grapes and toothpicks. Once they’ve mastered that encourage them to try harder shapes like pentagons and cubes.

Learn about shapes with grapes! A fun activity for kids!

Once kids get the hang of it then give them free reign. They can design and engineer their own structures and really grasp the properties of shape!
