Spiders are such a fun theme for a preschool birthday party or play date!  Kids love to sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider song and you can use that excitement for a party theme.  My sister had a spider themed 3rd birthday party for my niece and it was both easy and fun!

Cute ideas for a spider themed party or play date. Perfect for preschoolers!

The key to preschool parties and play dates is to keep them simple and set up multiple stations or activities for the kids to wander around to.  That way the kids can play and have fun without the adults having to entertain them the whole time, the best part of any gathering is playing with your fiends!

Make Your Own Spider Bar for a Party or Play Date!

Spider Party Food:

Keep party prep simple with a Make Your Own Spider Sandwich Bar!  Kids can choose their favorites and create a fun lunch for themselves.

  • Body: round peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
  • Eyes: raisins (or chocolate chips!)
  • Legs: pretzels or veggie chips

Spider Kid Activities!

Spider Kids Activities:

Play Dough Spiders

Set out play dough, googly eyes, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners and whatever else you have on a table for kids to create with.

Spider Sensory Bin

Fill a kids pool with corn and throw in a bunch of plastic spiders and you have a bug spider sensory bin kids can climb into and play with.  Make sure to include things for the kids to pour and scoop with and they’ll be happily engaged for awhile!

Make a Spider Headband

Use construction paper and googly eyes to create a spider hat for all the kids to wear.  Follow these simple Spider Headband Craft instructions on Fantastic Fun and Learning.

Giant Spider Web Maze

You can string black yarn around the room or yard to make a spider web for kids to crawl through.  If you are indoors this Giant Spider Web Maze from Hands on : as we grow looks like lots of fun too.

EASY Spider Donut Treats for Kids!

Chocolate Spider Donut Treats:

Aren’t these donut spiders adorable?  Just purchase your favorite chocolate donuts and add candy eyes.  Then stick in paper straw legs that have been cut into small pieces and you are all set!

A spider party or play date is so easy to put together.  You can even stock up on some spider supplies when they are discounted after Halloween to make party prep even easier!
