No Bake Dog Treats Book and Cook Activity

Homemade No Bake Dog Treats Book and Cook Activity

This month's Virtual Book Club for Kids author, David Shannon, was completely new to us so we went to the library to check out of bunch of his books.  Good Boy, Fergus! was the house favorite and we had a lot of fun doing a dog themed kids activity to go along with it. The kids really enjoyed Fergus, the canine main character, because he reminded them of our dogs and how they sometimes act...especially out in public! We love book and cook … [Read more...]

Egg Shakers and Song for Preschoolers

My kids LOVE playing with egg shakers!  They're so much fun, easy to make, and (surprisingly) last for a long time.  I was just making a bunch for my son's preschool class and realized that not everyone has made them before! So here's a quick "how to" along with our favorite preschool song to shake to... Gruffalo Party Food and Movie Night

Gruffalo Cupcakes

We have been having so much fun with The Gruffalo and the Virtual Book Club for Kids this month!  Our friends at The Gruffalo North America sent us a copy of The Gruffalo DVD (affiliate link) to watch so we decided to invite some friends over for a Gruffalo Movie Party! I came up with three Gruffalo themed snacks for the kids to try while they watched! The Gruffalo cupcakes were just chocolate frosted cupcakes with candy on top. The horns and … [Read more...]

Chalkboard Easter Eggs

I have been loving all of the fun egg decorating ideas for kids I've seen this year!  One of my favorites was this idea from Super Mommy where she dipped her eggs in chalkboard paint.  I wanted to try it with my kiddos, but I was worried that we wouldn't remember to get them back into the refrigerator. So instead of chalkboard painting eggs we used egg-shaped rocks!  Genius, right?  Now they can stay out year round and be used in any way the kids can … [Read more...]

Gruffalo Puppet Kids Book Activity

Make Your Own Gruffalo Puppet Activity

We are quite excited to learn more about Julia Donaldson, March's Virtual Book Club for Kids author.  We own and love her book The Gruffalo and came up with a fun kids activity to go with it...homemade Gruffalo puppets! In The Gruffalo, a little mouse uses his wit to outsmart the many animals in the forest who are trying to eat him.  My kids love rooting for the underdog while listening to the lyrical writing.  Even my oldest, who can easily read … [Read more...]

Rainbow Outdoor Games for Preschool

My kids love to get outdoors and play.  Since my 3 year old has been rainbow obsessed this week and we decided to add some rainbow-ness into some of our traditional outdoor games and came up with three fun ways to play. Rainbow May I? My older kids are so happy that my 3 year old can finally really play Mother May I? with them!  We had painted a bunch of rainbow plates and used one of them to make a rainbow hat for Rainbow May I?!!! I drew two … [Read more...]

How to Make Slime and Valentines

How to Make Slime with glue and Borax

My son really wanted to make his own valentines this year and after a couple different ideas settled on passing out slime!  Making slime is really fun, super easy, and (surprisingly) not messy. How to Make Slime: (Click here for the Borax-free recipe) Pour 8oz of Elmer's glue into a glass bowl. Add in 8oz of warm water. (You can just fill up the empty glue bottle to save on dishes!) Add whatever color food coloring you choose. … [Read more...]
